I got down here this morning. Cohen is off his oxygen. He has done really well. When he is sleeping or crying he dips down but bounces back up quickly. Cohen has a swallowing test this afternoon and if all goes well we will be coming home tomorrow.
The swallowing test went better than the speech therapist expected! He still has some coordination to learn but he has made good progress. He drank 2 oz. barium and it was neat to watch on the video x-ray. The dietician came and talked about fortifying his milk. He needs to gain 1 oz a day for 3 months. A discharge nurse came and gave us the run down.
Intermountain home care came and delivered his feeding pump. We need to be able to insert his feeding tube before we can leave. Hopefully we won't need the feeding tube for long. Speech came in at 4:00 and did another feeding. He was sucking way too fast and his oxygen dipped down into the 70's. He also threw it all back up. Hopefully that doesn't continue.
