First oral feeding

The last chest tube came out today. He seems to be happy with them out- as are we! Much easier to hold him. I got to feed him with a bottle for the first time. The speech therapist came in to observe his swallowing ability. He isn't organized in his swallowing/breathing yet. He only took a few sucks and it was really tiring for him. They only let him try for 10 minutes and then they put the rest through his NG tube. He only took 10 cc from the bottle. He is getting fed 40 cc every 2 hours. Every other feeding I do with the bottle. Occupational therapy came and worked with him. They did basically the same thing as physical therapy but they look more at fine motor skills. They said he is doing great.
Cohen definitely has his days and nights mixed up. He can snooze all day long. He is awake and pretty content from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am. 5 o'clock rolls around and he gets all comfortable and sleeps for most the day.
